RAM is needed for a computer to function. If your computer is crashing you may have old or damaged RAM. It can be damaged by static electricity and if it is not removed or inserted correctly. Adding more RAM to your computer can improve its performance drastically.

Press and slide the two buttons outwards and away from the battery.

Slide the battery away and parallel from the laptop.

Unscrew the eight 6mm screws with a Philips #1 screw driver.

Lift back cover from the groove on the left side of the cover next to the symbol.

Push the metal tabs outward and away from the RAM.

Pull the top piece straight out of the socket.

Repeat the same process by pushing the bottom metal tabs outward and away from the RAM.

Pull the bottom piece straight out of the socket.
