    • Remove the slipmat and locate the small, round clip which holds the turntable platter to the turntable.

    • Insert the iFixit opening tool between the spindle and the clip and pry off the clip.

    • The clip does not need to be replaced and might already be missing.

    • After removing the clip, lift the turntable platter off the chrome spindle on the turntable base. The band connects the platter to the turntable base and will likely fall off in this process.

    • There will be some lubricant on the band and the metal prong on the turntable base. Leave this lubricant as is.

    • Turn the platter over so that you are looking at the underside.

    • Stretch the new band around the raised, internal circle and loop the band over the raised prong. This will create a teardrop shape with your new band.

    • Try not to over-stretch the new band or you will need to replace it too.

    • Turn the platter back over and place it on the spindle.

    • Spin the platter 2 times clockwise to unloop the band from the raised prong on the platter and to loop it around the raised prong on the turntable base. This allows the circular motion of the motor to spin the band and the turntable platter.

    • You may replace the round clip at this point though it is not important to the sound quality of the turntable.
