There are two reasons why you may need to replace your hard drive. Either your primary drive may be having a hardware failure or you want to upgrade to increase speed and capacity.

First you will need to turn the laptop upside down.

Remove the battery by pushing the switch to the left and removing the battery from its slot.

Unscrew the three 3mm screws on the compartment underneath the battery.

Use a Phillips screwdriver to remove the two 3mm screws on the lowest compartment.

Use a Metal Spudger remove the panel. Underneath is where the hard drive is connected .

This is where you detach your old hard drive and replace with the new component.
