  1.     • Remove the two 2mm J00 screws on the right exterior.

    • Remove a single 4 mm J00 on the bottom exterior.

    • Remove a single 3mm J00 on the left exterior.

    • Remove a single 2mm J00 screw on the left exterior hidden under the A/V Out port.

    • Once the front shell of the camera is removed the back shell should slide off just the same.

    • Use one of your plastic opening tools to separate the screen from the main body of your PowerShot.

    • Remove five of the 3mm J00 screws under the screen to release the lens for replacement.

    • Lens assembly should be removed through the front of the camera once screws are removed.

I have a SD1300 IS and it has another case screw beneath a plastic cover just below the USB port.

Also step 4 shows 2 screws to remove on the lens that do not go through the metal frame. These should not be removed for lens removal.

It is necessary on mine to remove the 2 screws on the left side of the metal frame that attach to the lens assy.
