    • Open the scanner lid, located on the top of the printer.

    • With your finger or an iFixit opening tool, push in on both the left and right hinge releases.

    • Once pushed in, pull evenly upwards on both sides to ensure it doesn't go out at an angle and get stuck.

    • Fully remove the scanner lid.
