These breaks can cause wastewater spills and other issues that require a fix to be made rather quickly. The wastewater can contain contaminants that are harmful to the environment. It is also likely that these breaks will be the possible means for bugs and rodents to enter a resident’s home. Use this guide as a tool to assist you in replacing the broken pipe cleanout.

Using the shovel, dig out around base of pipe.

Using the hack saw, cut the broken pipe at the joint connections.

Using the brush and towel, clean the pipe ends at least one inch on both ends.

Fit all PVC pieces on to ensure that they all fit before you cement them together.

With the measuring tape, measure and cut the straight PVC pipe to fit between the existing pipe and Charlotte pipe PVC hub combo wye fitting.

Apply the primer on the outside end of the straight pipe and inside the end of the Charlotte pipe PVC hub combo wye fitting.

Apply the PVC cement on the ends of both the straight pipe and Charlotte pipe PVC hub combo wye fitting and press firmly together.

Prime and glue the rest of the pieces together one at a time.

Twist rubber coupling sleeve over both the existing pipe and the short straight pipe. Secure the circle clamp by tightening the screws with the flat head screwdriver.
