The removal of the battery is a rather easy process, but very critical when thinking about the use of this razor. Many people will use an electric razor until it dies for the first time, but rather than replacing the battery, they will just buy another electric razor. Use a spudger to remove the rubber piece on the back of the razor.

Use a Torx T8 to remove (4) 10 mm screws from housing.

Remove the rear cover from the device.

Remove the battery from the holster inside the device.

Replace the battery with a new 1300 mAh Sanyo (UR18500Y) battery.

Be sure to insert the battery the correct way.

Any idea on how to remove/replace the drive unit? I bought a new one but the plastic backing is extremely hard to get off.

I just wanted to comment that a small flat-head screw driver can be used to remove the 4 screws (under the rubber handle piece) if you don’t have a Torx tool. The screws each have 1 small slot across the head and if you’re careful you can remove and re-install them without too much trouble.
Thanks again for helping to save me a lot of trouble with this Alex… and avoid having to buy a new electric razor!
