If your touch pad is unresponsive, follow this guide to replace the components.

Turn the device over so the back plate is facing up.

Use a Philips Head PH1 screwdriver to remove 10 screws (3 10mm screws and 7 5mm screws) around the perimeter of the back plate.

Remove the back plate by lifting it straight up.

Remove 9 5mm screws around the edge of the battery

Lift up the battery to reveal the battery terminal.

Unclip the battery terminal by prying straight up on the sides of the connector to release the clips.

Remove the silver tape at the edge of the touch pad.

Disconnect the white ribbon labeled “TP” by pulling gently.

-
Remove 2 5mm screws from the hard drive casing.
