Unscrew all ten 2mm screws located on the bottom of the laptop using a Phillips #2 screwdriver.

Insert the plastic opening tool in the crevice between the back of the laptop and the rest of the case.

Carefully pry open the case from several points.

Unscrew all six 2mm screws using Philips #2 screws along the edges of the L-Shaped battery.

Disconnect the battery from the motherboard by pulling the No-Fuss Ribbon cables out of the connector.

Carefully lift the battery out of the laptop.

Follow the guide in reverse order to reassemble the device.

Mine was doing the exact same thing. I replaced the battery and it is working fine. There are known battery issues with this model.

I found my old ASUS X205TA and the battery was dead, it would still work with AC power though. I ordered a replacement battery and used this simple guide. All went well. Thanks.
This should be a #0 Phillips driver, not a #2 Phillips driver!
