Use the iFixit opening tool to disconnect three clips holding the outer covering in place.

Clips at 3 o'clock, 7 o'clock and 11 o'clock

Remove three screws holding the inner plastic covering in place with a Phillips screwdriver.

Remove two screws from the motherboard with a Phillips screwdriver.

Remove the motherboard from the headphones.

Use a soldering iron to desolder the connection from the Bluetooth receiver.

I have the sane question.. what is that chip??!! anyone???
answering myself and others out there who have their headphones stopped charging..its not the bluetooth chip.. its an IC chip..this seems to be a common problem.. the chip is ETA40543, and its not very commonly available, but you can find it on Aliexpress, about 1$ a piece.
