Using your hands, remove the pegs (4+4) from the front and back of the speaker.

Remove the outer black rubber housing of the speaker.

Remove the inner blue rubber housing from the speaker.

Pull out the two black wire meshes using a metal spudger.

Using tweezers remove the rubber stoppers (4 at the back + 2 at the front).

Using the size PH1 screwdriver remove the screws exposed from the rubber stoppers (4 + 2).

Pull the case apart and you will be able to see all the components inside the speaker.

The battery will be sitting right behind the speakers when the case is open.

Unplug and disconnect the battery from the motherboard.
Where can I get a replacement battery
This fixit guide is absolutely worthless unless one has a source for replacement batteries. AltecLanding online customer is not responsive. I have not found an online source for parts yet. Option seems to be to chuck the product and replace with another brand.
Very discouraging.
First of all i cannot get the rubber cover of to get to the battery. I went out and bought the tools no luck...bottom line you get up having to buy a new unit or another model....Not happy at all
I bought the battery from Amazon. About $12.
Use the model number of the battery and then match the pictures of the battery and the plug on the wires.
The screws were a little difficult to get out, but persistence pays off. There were seven of them.
Acted Lansing customer service is absolutely no help at all, but this step by step guide got me through it.
