    • Locate the four screws

    • Two are located at the end of handles

    • Two are hidden by the label behing the battery

It was an okey guide but the description of how to open the clips after unscrewing was very vague and I had no clue there these clips where and when open I notice three clips. One in between the joysticks and two underneath L & R buttons. Also I needed a flat screwdriver to open them up.

This guide is accurate and also works with the Pro 2 controller by 8BitDo. I would add that, as a previous commenter has mentioned, the location of the clips is unclear. I found that once the screws were removed, there was little resistance when seperating the two halves of the shell when starting from the 'bottom' of the controller (along the thighs/between the joysticks and in front of the player number LEDs). The 'top' of the controller, where the shoulder buttons are, was slightly trickier, and with the Pro 2 at least, it is necessary to pop the L2 and R2 buttons out of the claw hinges to fully separate the two halves of the shell.

Once the halves are separated, you may not have to remove the ribbon cable depending on the repair you are doing. It is located between the thumbstick on the Pro2. It is a shorter cable, so for a simple job like replacing the sticks (as in my case), it might be worth it to take a bit more careful so you don't spend more time reattaching it than doing the actual repair.
