What about the storage box above the glove box that blocks access to the filter? Is there enough room as shown to swing open the filter door access without removing the your box as well?

    • Pull the old cabin air filter out of the housing.

    • Cabin air flows top to bottom (your old filter should be dirty on the top to illustrate this). Some filters will have an arrow stating to point arrow up, while others will have the arrow go in the direction of the airflow, which would be down. Install new filter accordingly.

The direction of airflow is definitely from top to bottom. I stuck a piece of paper in while the cabin filter was out with fan running, it pulled the paper downward. Be careful not to let the paper go too low because it will hit the fan just a couple inches below the filter compartment.

There is another air filter above this one. Anyone know how to remove it so it can be cleaned or replaced?

Very helpful. But for Right hand drive cars the filter cover un-clips from the left hand edge.

Your instructions are the best! The new filter can have an "up" arrow or an "airflow" arrow. You are the only one that explained the air flow properly! Thanks!
