Correctly identify and purchase the cabin air filter for your 2009-2013 Mazda 3 model.

Remove the panel under the middle console by pulling from the bottom and then from the top.

Remove the black panel under the passenger-side dashboard by unclipping the two tabs,

Remove the two 2 mm Phillips screws securing the bottom of the filter housing.

Pull the tab at the top of the housing cover to remove it.

Pull out one of the two air filters.

The second filter, located on top of first filter, should fall into the same place as you remove the first one.

Insert the new filters into the slots.
-
Position the first filter on top.
-
Ensure the second air filter fits tightly underneath the one on top.

Place the housing cover back in position.
-
Tighten the two screws to secure the cover.

Position the black panel under the passenger side dashboard.

Clip the two tabs back into place by pushing on them to secure the panel.

Align the side panel back under the middle console.

Secure the panel by pushing it back into place from the top and the bottom.
