Headlights allow drivers to be aware of road hazards and are a warning device that indicate a moving vehicle is nearby. Eventually, headlights will burn out and need to be replaced. This guide will show you how to replace the headlight bulb on your 2005-2012 Toyota RAV4 with no tools. Be sure the car is off and the engine is not hot before working under the hood. Also make sure to engage the emergency break for an extra safety precaution before working on the car.

Turn off your car, use your emergency break to secure the car and pop open the hood.

Under the hood of the car, locate a black cable towards the grille on the drivers side that leads to the back of the headlight. The bulb is located here.

Turn the bulb counter-clockwise using your hand and gently pull the headlight out.

The headlight is attached to a plug that has a clip. Push down on the clip and pull the bulb out at the same time with the opposite hand.

Slide the new bulb into that same plug until you hear a click.

Put the bulb into the same hole that it was removed from and turn clockwise until you hear another click. You are done!
