Great guide - I was able to swap the motor out successfully. Just to note: the EG-530SD-3F motor I ordered had a JST connector attached, which I had to remove (it won't fit inside the motor housing otherwise). I re-soldered the cable to the new motor as described.

Some additions:

a) Before swapping the motor, try to clean the pulley, sometimes it accumulates some gunk like on the pictures in the guide. That can affect traction.

b) There are replacement motors that have a slighly different pulley diameter. This means you will have to adjust the turntable speed after the replacement! That's what the trimming potentiometers in the holes under the rubber covers on the underside of the motor are meant for. The one labeled "H" is for 45 rpm adjustment, the one labeled "L" for 33 1/3 rpm.
There are smart phone apps that can be used to calibrate the speed, using the gyroscopes in modern smart phones to measure the actual rpm.

c) If you want to avoid touching the belt with your fingers (no need to get them greasy..) use the little tool that comes with the player.
