Honor Magicbook 14 (2020)

The Honor MagicBook 14 (Ryzen 5 3500U version) is a 14-inch Windows 10 laptop with a 1920x1080 IPS display, a backlit keyboard, a fingerprint reader in the power button, and a webcam hidden under a key between F6 and F7. It weighs 1.38 kg and is 15.9 mm thick. It is older than “2020” suggests. The MagicBook 14 and 15 first launched in November 2019 with Ryzen 3000 chips. Europe got it at a Barcelona event in February 2020, and UK sales started April 7, 2020, through Amazon and Argos. I found no discontinuation date and no published unit sales. It was never sold in the US but was on sale in parts of Europe. It also sold in Malaysia, and Russia got it earlier.

Honor marketed it to young professionals. The European starting price was 599 euros for 8 GB RAM and 256 GB storage. UK pricing was £549 direct from Honor. Malaysia’s price was RM2,499. The later Ryzen 5 4500U model cost £669.99 in the UK. Reviewers liked the price-to-performance ratio. Tech Advisor’s battery test ran 10 hours 43 minutes. The webcam’s angle is the main complaint: it points up at your chin. I found no recall and no pattern of hardware failures for this model. The failure-related results were all for the newer MagicBook Art 14, a different product.

This model replaced the original MagicBook, which launched with a Ryzen 5 2500U in 2018. Two successors followed with the same design, which confirms what you described. The Ryzen 5 4500U version was announced at IFA in September 2020 with the display and dimensions unchanged. The Ryzen 5 5500U refresh came in 2021 and kept the earlier design.

This laptop has an aluminum body and a 14-inch screen, the dimensions (year × to. × gr.): ******322.5mm × 214.8mm × 15.9mm . The Honor logo appears on the back of the screen and on the band across the bottom of the display. It also has a hidden camera between the F6 and F7 function keys. This laptop also comes with a Ryzen 3500u. On the bottom casing of the laptop you will be able to find the model number. This laptop came in 2 colors Gray and Silver. The NFC sticker for this laptop is at the bottom right corner of the keyboard on the palm rest.
