The PlayStation X (marketed simply as the PSX) is a digital video recorder (DVR) and home video game console hybrid developed by Sony Corporation, released exclusively in Japan in December 2003. Designed as an all-in-one consumer entertainment hub rather than a dedicated gaming machine, it integrated full PlayStation 2 hardware alongside a writable DVD drive, an analog television tuner, and a built-in hard disk drive.

It was also notable for being the very first Sony device to debut the XrossMediaBar (XMB) interface later used on the PlayStation Portable and PlayStation 3. Due to high launch pricing and software bugs, it saw limited commercial success and was discontinued in 2005.
