The Invacare Platinum is an oxygen concentrator made by Invacare and designed for everyday use. Invacare Corporation is an American producer of medical equipment like walkers, respiratory products, and wheelchairs. An oxygen concentrator is a medical or industrial device that concentrates the oxygen from either ambient air or another gas supply. Oxygen concentrators selectively remove nitrogen and other gases from the air to provide an oxygen-enriched stream. The Invacare Platinum Series includes model numbers IRC5LXO2AW, IRC5LXAW, IRC5LXO2AWQ, and IRC9LXO2AWQ.

Invacare recommends using crush-proof oxygen tubing with the Invacare Platinum oxygen concentrator. The IRC5LXO2AW, IRC5LXAW, and IRC5LXO2AWQ models are rated to produce oxygen flows below five liters per minute. The IRC9LXO2AWQ model can produce oxygen flows up to nine liters per minute. For both models, flow rates less than one liter per minute are not recommended by the manufacturer. The Pediatric Flowmeter Accessory should be used for flow rates less than one liter per minute. The machine will emit a rapid audible beeping alert when the oxygen output is between zero and one-half liters per minute.

The Invacare Platinum oxygen concentrators are typically contained in white or grey plastic housing. The machines include four caster wheels for maneuverability. A built-in handle is located at the top of the oxygen concentrator.

Oxygen Output Concentration Levels: All 5LXO2AWQ/5LXAW/ 5LXO2AW/9LXO2AWQ models:

• IRC5LXAW, IRC5LXO2AW, and IRC5LXO2AWQ
  • 93% minimum at 1 to 3 L/min.
  • 91% minimum at 4 L/min.
  • 87% minimum at 5 L/min. (maximum recommended flow)
• IRC9LXO2AWQ
  • 92% minimum at 1 to 2 L/min.
  • 91% minimum at 8 L/min.
  • 87% minimum at 9 L/min.
  • 93% minimum at 3 to 7 L/min.

Maximum Outlet Pressure:

• IRC5LXAW, IRC5LXO2AW, IRC5LXO2AWQ: 34.5 ± 3.45 kPa (5 ± 0.5 psi)
• IRC9LXO2AWQ: 62.0 kPa ± 3.45 kPa (9 ± 0.5 psi)

Flow Range:

• IRC5LXAW, IRC5LXO2AW, IRC5LXO2AWQ: 0.5 to 5 L/min. Flowrates less than 1 L/min. are not recommended
• IRC9LXO2AWQ: 1 L/min. to 9 L/min. Flowrates less than 1 L/min. are not recommended.

Low Flow Alarm: 0 L/min. to 0.5 L/min. Rapid Audible Alarm Beeping (No Accessories Connected).
