Background and Identification
The Meta Quest 3 borrows the pancake optics first introduced in the Meta line of devices by the Quest Pro, a design choice aimed at reducing the bulkiness of the frontend of the device.
In addition to the optics, Meta has also introduced a slimmed down version of the Quest Pro controllers in an attempt to permanently forego the use of tracking rings. This results in a smaller, more compact controller.
As a successor to the entry level to mid-range headsets Meta has come to be known for, the Quest 3 follows in the footsteps of the Quest 2 by offering a price point that will likely prove to be more accessible to the general public, starting at $499 for the 128GB model.
