This mixer was originally released as a Costco exclusive somewhere around 2014. It was intended to be an entry-level model for KitchenAid's top-tier of mixers exclusive to Costco. It features:
- a 1.0 HP DC Motor (the motor is actually the same as the 1.3HP but supposedly the control board limits it to 1.0 HP)
- A fluted 6.0-Qt. bowl based upon the old KSM5 bowl.
- Coated beater and dough hook.
