Background and Identification
The Getemed VitaGuard VG 300 and 310 models are heart rate, apnea, and respiration monitors made by Getemed. Getemed Medizin is a producer of medical devices in the following categories: cardiac function diagnostics, ambulatory patient monitoring, and telemonitoring. The VG 300 and 310 models can be used for monitoring vital signs in clinical and home environments. The 310 pulse oximeter is also designed for applications where movement of the patient is necessary.
The VG 300 and 310 models feature graphical LCD displays that present measured parameters, alarm settings, waveforms, and status messages. These devices also include 72 hours of trend memory and an 8-hour full-disclosure memory. If the patient’s pulse rate or oxygen saturation moves outside the preset limits, the device provides an audible and visual alarm.
The VG 300 and 310 monitors can be powered by either four 1.5-Volt alkaline batteries or with an external 9-Volt power adapter. With fully charged batteries, the monitor can operate for up to 24 hours.
For the VG 310 model, the name “VitaGuard VG 310” is printed in blue font in the upper right-hand corner of the device’s front face. The VG 300 model looks visually similar but includes the name “VitaGuard VG 300” in the upper right-hand corner of the monitor’s front face. The manufacturer’s name, “Getemed'' is printed vertically in white lowercase font on the left-hand side of the device's front face. Four arrow buttons are located on the right-hand side of the device’s display.
