Troubleshooting
If you are having difficulties with the Gateway NV53A24u, try referring to the troubleshooting page.
Background and Identification
The Gateway NV53A24u is a 15.6 inch laptop released in 2010. It's powered by the AMD Athlon II X2 processor with a 64-bit dual-core CPU running at 2.1GHz. With 1MB L2 cache, a 1066MHz front side bus, and 4GB of DDR3 memory able to be upgraded to 8GB, it has plenty of power for multitasking.
The screen is a 15.6″ TFT-LCD high-definition widescreen display with a resolution of 1366×768. Driven by an AMD M880G Chipset with ATI Mobility RadeonTM HD 4250 graphics, its 256MB-1405 MB of shared graphics memory may slow down during graphically intense operations.
For storage you get a 320GB Serial ATA harddisk at 5400RPM, enough for most people's use. It comes with a DVD±RW/CD-RW optical drive with double-layer support, and a media reader slot that supports Secure Digital, MultiMediaCard, Memory Stick, Memory Stick PRO, and xD-Picture Card formats.
For internet connectivity, you get a standard RJ-45 port that connects to a 10/100/1000 Ethernet adapter, and a 802.11 b/g/n wireless Ethernet adapter for WiFi.
Other ports on this machine include 3 USB 2.0 ports, 1 VGA port, 1 HDMI port, 1 headphone, and 1 microphone.
And, with a 6-cell lithium ion battery pack, the machine is able to run for up to 3 hours and 42 minutes on unplugged power.
