Background
The GE Voluson I is a portable 4D ultrasound machine developed by GE Healthcare. The Voluson I was launched in 2005 as the first transportable unit of its kind, and it remains one of the best-performing units in its field. Primarily designed for use in obstetrics, gynecology, and women's health, where detailed imaging is often required, the Voluson I became extremely popular due to the combination of detailed imaging and portablilty. GE Healthcare has since released newer models of the Voluson series, but the Voluson I continues to be used widely in clinical practice.
As of April 5, 2025, there are no major manufacturer recalls associated with the GE Voluson I.
