== Background ==

The Dell Inspiron 15 3511 is a budget laptop manufactured by Dell. This variant, launched in January 2021 worldwide, is a 10th & 11th-generation Intel model that was initially released with Windows 10 and Ubuntu 20.04, later models shipped with Windows 11. Marketed towards a budget/casual audience, this variant could be had with a starting price of $323 USD and was sold until the launch of the 13th-generation Intel Core model (3530) in May 2023. Included with the product was the laptop itself along with a 65 W Dell proprietary power adapter.

This laptop weighs at 1.73 kg (3.82 lb) and came included with a 10th or 11th-generation Intel processor with integrated UHD or Iris Xe graphics, or a dedicated NVIDIA MX350, 4-16 GB of DDR4 memory, 128 GB to 2 TB of SSD storage (some models included a 1-2 TB HDD), a full-layout keyboard (with optional backlight), along with a 15.6" anti-glare display (HD TN or FHD wide-angle panel) at 220 nits at 60Hz.

This was the first Intel Core-based Inspiron 15 3000 series laptop where the display/front of the laptop, specifically the bottom portion of it acted as a foot stand to provide better cooling and ventilation for the laptop. Subsequent variants (in the same chassis) of this laptop include the:

A very prominent issue people may have faced with this laptop over the entirety of the model's lifespan is the hinge. The hinge can break, separating the display from the body of the laptop. No official manufacturer recalls were ever performed, only repairs through Dell's warranty.

To Identify your Inspiron model, look at the back of the laptop, and you should see a small rectangular box below the "Inspiron" embossing and above the vents, which should contain warnings, regulatory info, and a QR code. The very top left of the box should indicate your Inspiron Variant (i.e. DELL Inspiron 15 3511).
