Air sips through the rear exhaust but nailer does not push nail |
Background
The Dewalt Nailer DWFP12233 (2016) is an 18-gauge brad nailer that came out around 2015–2016. It has the DeWalt branding with the yellow and black colors, a thin nose at the front, and a long magazine for storing the nails at the bottom. It was priced around $100–$120 when it was being sold, and there are no records of recalls or safety hazards connected to it. It was mostly aimed at people who were doing trim or finish work, like carpenters or anyone who was building cabinets, but a lot of people used it for DIY and general-purpose work because it was easy to handle and use.
In the older reviews, people liked that it was light in the hand and made nail placement more precise, though there were a few reports of it jamming or not feeding nails smoothly after a while. It more or less replaced the older DWFP12231, with the difference being the addition of a little longer nail capacity and the Precision Point nose for better accuracy. It was not a lead headline tool and never made the news, per se, but it was simply another addition to DeWalt's lineup before newer cordless nailers started to replace them.
Identification
The DWFP12233 is the standard yellow and black DeWalt design, with a compact frame, an extended magazine along the bottom, and a rather narrow front nose that assists in getting aligned with nails. It measures around 13 inches long and is nearly 5 pounds in weight, so it does not feel quite heavy like other pneumatic nailers. What really sets it apart is the "Precision Point" nose, which is smaller than older models, helping with easier placement. Model number is usually stamped on a black label or sticker on one side near the handle so that users can identify it directly on the tool. It is only offered in the usual DeWalt yellow-and-black paint scheme, but the short, rubberized handle and side exhaust give it a presence and a feel that immediately differentiate it from similar nailers.
