Background
This computer was first available on November 1st, 2000. While this machine is around twenty five years old, it was significantly ahead of its time technologically. The generic use for this laptop is primarily business related, but it is also able to perform most daily tasks that an average user would need.
Essentially, this is a major upgrade compared to its past models and functions much more smoothly for everyday work. This machine does not have super up to date features, but that is mostly because its main objective for the average consumer is meant for strictly business use other than less serious tasks. Basically, the major components of this device are very business-oriented. The features are extremely basic but also very efficient. This laptop was not designed to be very fancy, it was designed to be the most practical for business uses, not entertainment uses.
A major recall that the Dell Latitude C800 was a part of involved AC adapters. Unfortunately, these AC adapters were involved in many computers, one of which being the Dell Latitude C800 lineup. If you own the Dell Latitude C800, the three numbers that you should be aware of the AC adapter are 09364U, 04983D and 07832D. These are the hazardous portions of the AC adapters.
Another issue that this device has tended to have is hard drive failure. Over time, some of these laptops' hard drives start having booting issues. Unfortunately, the best fix for this problem is to just completely replace the hard drive by replacing it with a brand new one.
