Background and Identification
Released in October 2015 alongside the Chromecast Audio, the new Chromecast is a more powerful version of Google's first generation Internet-enabled streaming device. This iteration features a dual-band three-antenna array with support for 802.11ac Wi-Fi connections, a slightly larger form factor, and a longer HDMI cable to reduce interference from TV sets. The hockey-puck-shaped 2015 Chromecast comes in three finishes: red, yellow, and black.
