Background
The Canon PowerShot SX600 HS, produced by Canon in early 2014, offers consumers a compact digital camera that creates high-quality pictures and video at a lower price range. The “SX” in the label stands for “Super Zoom”, and sets these cameras apart from Canon’s other cameras that only offered a normal, lesser zoom.
The Canon PowerShot SX600 HS comes in a choice of silver, red, or black. It has a 3-inch LCD screen and Wi-Fi. It has a 16 megapixel lens, an 18X zoom feature, and can record video in 1080p. The standard battery life is around 290 shots, but it also offers an “Eco” mode that allows up to 430 shots while using less battery.
Identification
You can identify your Canon PowerShot SX600 HS camera by the model number printed on the front case. The serial number can be found on the bottom of the camera, printed on a sticker near the tripod socket. For additional help identifying your camera, take a look at the Canon support page.
