Archax Repair

ARCHAX by Tsubame Industries, also stylized as Archax, or spelled as Arcax, is a cutting-edge, human-piloted giant robot that blends mechanical performance, thoughtful design, and safety to deliver a sci-fi-style piloting experience. Standing 4.5 meters tall and weighing 3.5 tons, it features 26 movable joints that enable articulated head, arm, and hand, waist, with carefully engineered linkage and cable routing for smooth movement.

Inside the cockpit, the pilot enters via a multi-hatch system and uses dual joysticks, pedals, and a touchscreen, aided by four monitors showing feeds from nine exterior cameras for full situational awareness. ARCHAX supports two operating modes — a fully expressive robot mode and a streamlined vehicle mode with front-wheel steering and rear-wheel drive that can reach about 10 km/h (6.21 mi/hr) — with automatic adjustments to seating posture during transformation.

The frame is a welded iron and aluminum structure inspired by construction machinery, optimized for strength and weight, while the exterior combines FRP and 3D-printed components for aesthetics without compromising function.

Safety systems are implemented according to international standards (ISO/IEC Guide 51 and ISO12100), including emergency stops on the cockpit and legs, joint limits and brakes, stability cutoffs for tip-over, ergonomic controls, status lighting, and emergency escape hatches to ensure secure operation.
