Background
The ASUS Zenbook Pro 14 Duo OLED is a laptop featuring two displays, the primary OLED screen and the secondary IPS screen. Both screens support up to 120 Hz refresh rate with stylus and touchscreen inputs. The laptop features a large variety of I/O ports, including a microSD card reader, an included stylus, and a wireless detachable keyboard. The intended users for this laptop are people who would beneift from a secondary smaller screen with a 32:10 formatting.
Consumers also report this model being prone to thermal issues that leads to thermal throttling affecting the performance and longevity of the device.
The model UX8402 is an older model from August 2022, which has been replaced by the newer model UX8406 from 2024. The newer version still features their dual screen technology, with updated hardware and slight improvements to the displays. The model UX8402 is no longer being officially sold by the manufactuer but can be found in some third-party retailers. These 3rd party sellers are typically offering this model at a premium price point of around 2000$. The series UX8402 has had no recalls issued by ASUS.
Identification
The ASUS Zenbook Pro 14 Duo OLED will look like a normal laptop at first, but once the screen is lifted, you will notice the primary display and a smaller horizontal display just above the keyboard, with your trackpad found on the right end of the keyboard. You can find the product number, model type, and barcode on the underside of the laptop. It should not be confused with the 2024 model, that has many distinct differences to the 2022 model, including a larger secondary screen and a keyboard layout more similar to that of a traditional laptop.
