Background
Released in April of 2015, the 3DR Solo is a smart drone created by 3D Robotics, an American company in Berkeley, California. 3D Robotics markets the Solo drone as the “smartest drone ever,” a device geared towards simple flying and professional aerial photography and videography. Powered by two computers, the 3DR Solo is designed specifically to be paired with the GoPro Hero camera.
Identification
The 3DR Solo quadcopter and controller are black. The 3DR logo is printed along the front top edge of the drone and on the phone holder of the controller. The model name Solo is printed on the side of the drone. You can find additional product information on a label beneath the removable battery.
