My button pad stoped working, why?

it worked allright until i stoped playing with it, some months passed and when i turned the psp on again the buttons stoped working, the d-pad works correctly and everything else too, does anyone have the same issue and know how to solve it??: Thanks

Your PSP-3000’s face buttons stopped working because the button contact sheet is dirty, the ribbon cable is loose, or the button board has corrosion. The D-pad still works because it uses a different circuit. Cleaning the contacts or reseating the ribbon cable usually fixes the issue; replacing the button board is the next step and is cheap.
