Why wont my bike start

The Choke has not worked for some time . Yesterday my 1999 Honda shadow spirit vt1100 , backfired and now it wont start. Is it carburetor issues ?

@scottmorga22284 backfiring is usually an ignition issue and not a carburetor issue. What have you already checked?
