Replacing a burned Thunderbolt Port
Same MBA from previous 2 questions. We ran a diagnostics after solving the charging issue and got a notice of a faulty thunderbolt port. Upon closer inspection the inside of the port appears to be burned up! Question is, can these be easily replaced by lifting one from a donor board of the same model? Note that there is some sort of material over the top which will more than likely 'melt', so do we just peel that off and then replace it with some tape to cover the holes below? Seems to be a straight forward transplant, but asking just to be sure.
