Why is there a 'Jumper' wire? For what purpose?

Continuing from this question (Solved) Charging issue (Fading Green Light Only)) I have noticed this jumper wire has been installed..... I cannot find any purpose under the schematics that I understand.... ??? Anyone know?

@livfe good question. Looks like your logic board has issues with the EFI IC. That jumper seems to supply SPI_MLB_CS_L which is needed for your logic board to communicate with the EFI. Could be related to your issues with the charging, since any issues with the SPI_MLB_CS_L prevents the system from initiating the basic power-on sequence. That means the SMC is probably not initialized and can't send the signal to the charger IC U7100, to begin the charging process ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

@oldturkey03 It is sometimes charging the battery and sometimes giving the fading green or orange light and not charging.... temperamental.

Zenner Diode D7012 (Voltage Divider) was shot, and is now correctly charging the battery..... but, still getting a fan error in diagnostics & a thunderbolt hardware issue which we are still troubleshooting.

@livfe sounds like your lines to the SMC are flaky. Don‘t forget to check those. It‘ll be a bit of a chase….nothing worse then intermittent failures. Best of luck and let us know how it works out.

@oldturkey03 Yeah that will be the last job to do after we fixed (IF possible) the thunderbolt port issue, maybe maybe if that gets fixed it makes a miracle!
