Sony srs XB33 won't turn on

Hey guys, I have a sony xb33 and as the title says it doesn't turn on. If i start charging it it lights up the orange charging light, but if i press the power button it just lights up the blue Bluetooth light for one second and turns off immediately.

If i press the power button without it conected to the charger it won't do anything, which led me to think the battery was dead.

Today i opened the speaker and the battery reads exactly 8V, which means it's full, visually looking everything looks ok, has anyone run into this problem or knows how to fix it? Didn't find anyone on YouTube with the same problem.

I managed to fix the speaker, it was the BMS that was faulty. The battery that i bought might have a faulty BMS as well or as it wasn't original it didn't work.

I desoldered the bms from the original battery pack and conected the battery directly and it is working now. I am going to order an original battery now as i cant find a bms to buy.

@raul3906 voltage tests are not a good indicator of a good battery. Your battery may have the 8V but it may not supply the proper amperage since it may fail under load. The symptoms you are describing sound like a bad battery. I would definitely start with that. If nothing else, it will give you a known-well starting point for further troubleshooting, if needed.

Ok thank you, i will try a new battery, if i use two 18650 batteries in serie does it work?

Also if i press the power button without the charger conected nothing happens

@raul3906 it could be the DC DC board but until we have a known well starting point it can turn into lots of trial and error. Yes, I would try a rebuilt of the battery vs just replacing it. Doing that with some 18650 should work.

I tried a new battery pack and the problem persists 😢

@raul3906 time to take a look at the power board. Disassemble your Sony and post some good pictures of your boards. Looks like a real pain Adding images to an existing question

I don't understand much about boards but i don't see anything burnt or broken.
