Huawei P8 Complete Removal of Mic, Wifi & Bluetooth?

Hello,

This will likely turn into an ongoing post, so here’s some background first. I’ve been trying to remove or disable the microphone and Wi-Fi/Bluetooth (W/B) modules from a Huawei P8 Lite. I’ve been using GPT (AI) and YouTube videos for guidance, but most of the videos weren’t very useful since they were muted with no real explanations.

I did manage to remove the microphone from a Huawei P10 Lite, and in the process I also accidentally removed the Wi-Fi/Bluetooth. I remember the P10 Lite microphone module had a metal casing with a small hole, which made it easier to identify. With the P8 Lite, that wasn’t the case so I just guessed and removed any casings that looked like they might be the mic.

I couldn’t identify the Wi-Fi/Bluetooth module on the P8 Lite, so I asked GPT again. It said it would be under a metal shield and showed me an image of a large black square chip. Using my soldering iron, I tried to heat and loosen the chip, but that didn’t work. Eventually, I resorted to brute force, which damaged the chip and left the phone unable to boot. That mistake cost me price I paid for the phone.

Now I’ve bought a Huawei P8 (not the Lite version), and before repeating the same mistake, I want to gain some proper knowledge about how to approach this safely without risking the whole phone. For tools, I have the following:

  • iFixit Essential Electronics Toolkit Starter Kit with 16 Precision Bits (4 mm) Screwdriver & Opening Tools

Since GPT can only give written instructions, and I’m more of a visual learner, and I find the muted YouTube videos unhelpful.

I’ve taken a picture of the Huawei P8 and divided it into 8 sections labeled A through H. Could someone point out in which section(s) the microphone(s) and Wi-Fi/Bluetooth modules are located?

Most likely I need to remove the metal shields and take another picture to upload, which is why I mentioned this might be an ongoing post.
