Released in North America in November 2006, the Wii was Nintendo's first home console to directly support Internet connectivity, supporting both online games and digital distribution of games and media applications through the Wii Shop Channel.

Heard a pop and won't turn on

I was using my wii in a newly moved in house, after about an hour of gaming it suddenly made a pop sound and it diconnected. It wont turn on anymore. Did an intrnal part of the wii break or is it just the AC adaptor failing? I haven't tested the wall sockets voltage yet but Im hoping it's the latter

Hi Mako!

Is it still having the red standby led?

If not, you most likely want to replace the AC adapter and see how that goes!

It could be either the AC adapter or motherboard. Hopefully it is the AC adapter, but just 1 way to be sure... Just replace it and see how that goes.

Did you moved internationally? If yes, please check the wall outlet voltages. 110v - 220v. I don't think this is the issue, otherwise it would happen before an hour of gaming (like in minutes, AND the adapter should support both 110 and 220).

Please let us know how it goes!
