Internal Microphone replacement on an iBook G4 1.33Ghz

I believe the internal mike is in the screen of this iBook G4.... since there's no mic. in on this model, it's pretty important that I fix it so that I can use skype.

Yes, I tried turning up the gain. No joy.

(I do have another similar model broken iBook that I can take a working mike out of.)

Yep- the mic is on the right side, inside the little hole. If you have another one, you may be able to use this guide as a basis to fix it.

Alternatively, you could use a USB based solution such as Griffin's iMic. It would allow you to plug a pair of headphones into the USB signal, along with a microphone.
