Televisions made by the Chinese multinational electronics company, TCL.

Why my TV faded to blank and hasn't since worked?

Hi, I have a TCL 50P725A TV that suddenly faded to black/blank screen. I opened the TV and found a few Capacitors swollen and had them changed. The TV repowered ok for 1 week and then faded again. Now it wouldn't show anything. There is back light when I power on. There are 2 ribbon cables to the panel. I removed 1 and the other side has vertical green lines, when I do the other cable, nothing happens. Can someone help me with a service manual. I email TCL and no reply.

@khandaiseenanan this could be caused by the LCD driver boards (long, skinny boards that connect directly to the LCD). Post some pictures of all of your boards with your Question. that way we can see what you see.

Since your backlight turns on and this "suddenly faded to black", it sounds like bad driver boards. We just need to make sure we are not missing anything obvious. Ultimately, a Tape-off maybe needed to see if you can get your video display back.
