Apple's smallest iPhone 14 was released on September 9th and comes with a 6.1" OLED display, an advanced dual 12 MP camera system, and a front camera with autofocus. Successor to the iPhone 13.

Won't boot correctly after screen repair

I have done a screen replacement on an iPhone 14 and now it will not boot past the apple logo or recovery mode.

When I reattach the old screen the phone boots completely normal (no touch hence the screen replacement) I have now tried 2 different replacement screens and have the same issue, I did manage to get it into recovery mode and do an update via iTunes, but this has not helped.

Any suggestions appreciated!

I have. few questions. And what I think may be the fix, depending.

Did it show normally in recovery mode? Did you transplant the little sensor cable from your old screen?

This could be the ambient light sensor. If you swapped the sensor cable over from the old screen, it's possible it was damaged slightly. Those are incredibly delicate and it is not uncommon for this issue to show the apple logo with full backlight but once it boots it defaults to minimum brightness. See if you can see the screen in a dark room. If so, you can replace this cable, but it will affect Face ID functionality.

Otherwise, how do you know its not booting correctly? What exactly does it do?

Hi

Yes, I transferred over the sensor cable, and it doesn't appear to be damaged. I have this morning taken the phone back apart, and the screen was working normally until I actually screwed in the bottom 2 screws now it turns on (makes charge noise when plugged in) but still black screen after the apple logo.
