Revamped version of the iPhone 3G with faster processing speeds. Repair of this device is similar to the 3G, and requires simple screwdrivers and prying tools. Model A1303 / 8, 16 or 32 GB capacity / black or white plastic back.

won't boot shows either battery logo or apple logo

my 3gs won't boot/startup to the home screen

itunes picks it up shows capacity etc etc

After holding down the power + home button, i tired restoring it seemed to work but rebooted then was stuck on apple logo then showed red battery with lighting bolt then shows apple logo again.

It does not seem to be taking or holding charge

I tested what google told me was the battery fuse for continuity and also the two charging fuses and they are not blown.

Tried restarting computer with iphone plugged in, plugging iphone in while holding home button, holding my tounge the right way etc

The phone is completely stripped down at the moment. How can i charge the battery by itself (battery out of phone) can i just cut a usb cord and put the power straight onto the battery terminals?

i know how to remove the battery, i have the phone completely in pieces the battery is sitting on my desk.

I want to try and direct charge the battery to see if that is the problem and to make sure it is not the dock connector. I have read on google about people thinking their battery was dead only to replace it and their phone still doesn't work

did you guys ever find a solution.. I have this exact same problem. I'm scared to buy a battery in case that's not the issue. I bought an lcd screen bc my old one shattered and my battery was working perfectly fine before I switched screens.

try to restore your phone: plug in the usb to your computer and open itunes. Then press the home key and the "sleep wake key" at the same time for 10 seconds. Then let go the the "sleep wake key" while still pressing on the home key for an additional ten more seconds. A note will pop up on the itune screen asking if you want to reset.

I am having the same issue with an iPhone 5. I can put it into recovery mode, but it fails every time. Did anyone ever find a definitive answer to this?
