Whirlpool WTW4816FW or the Maytag Centennial washer MVWC415EW2.

Can't get into diagnostic mode

When I plug in my Whirlpool WTW4816FW3 washer, it immediately enters what appears to be "Flood Mode," during which it drains continuously for approximately 5 to 10 minutes. Once this process completes, I am able to start a load of laundry.

However, during a recent quick wash cycle, the machine stopped about halfway through. At that point, the tub was empty, the lid was unlocked, and the cycle indicator remained on "Wash." The washer then sat idle for approximately 20 minutes without progressing or performing any functions.

I attempted to enter diagnostic mode to perform a reset, but the machine did not respond to any of the standard diagnostic entry sequences I tried. Despite multiple attempts using various combinations, I was unable to access diagnostic mode.

Hi @dexter70385

Here's is the tech sheet for the model.

Go to p.2 to view the procedure to activate the service diagnostic test modes and check what error code is being shown by the tests.

On p.3 there's a Fault/Error Code Display Method chart that shows how to interpret the status lights to know what the error code is.

The error codes, their meaning and possible causes are shown on p.6- p.7.

If you find the problem and it's due to a faulty part that needs replacing, here's the parts list that is useful.

Locate the wanted part in the list and note the manufacturer's part number that is shown with it.

Search online for the manufacturer's part number only, to find suppliers that suit you best.

If you search on YouTube for (insert wanted part number) replacement, sometimes if you're lucky, you'll find videos showing how to replace the part

I got into diagnostic mode last night, I've recalibrated it and there are no error codes as far as I am aware. After a lot of research, it seems like its the control bord

@dexter70385

I realize you said no error codes were shown but check the possible causes of an F8 E3 code (see p.7) just to eliminate them and that it is not the control board as the reason for the problem.
