My pc starts, but my screen won't..

The fans start, the led keyboard lights up for up to 5-10 seconds before it gets dark again. But the screen has zero reaction. Haven't used the computer for a few weeks. Tried to start today, then everything started. Passed 20 seconds before the message came up "your device ran into a problem" and got dark again. Now it's the same as for a few weeks ago. Why is this?

The kbd lighting up and going off happens during POST. That is normal.

"your device ran into a problem" indicates a problem either with a hardware component or software.

My first action would be to attempt to reboot multiple times.

Sometimes Windows will fix itself.

If that doesn't work try to get into BIOS.

If you can do that, most of the computer is working.

Then try to do a safe boot.

That will work is the computer can finish its POST and basic S/W and drivers are OK.

That would indicate that most of the hardware is working.

If you can't get to this point, it is a more serious H/W issue.

What is left would be parts of the OS and other drivers - or HDD errors.

At this point, open a cmd prompt in admin mode and run chkdsk c: /f

then run sfc /scannow

You may also have to run dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth

If that doesn't fix it you can do a repair install of Windows.

That will fix the OS and driver s/w, but won't harm your files.

That involves creating a bootable Windows USB stick.

Search that for instructions.

The laptop won't start up so much that I can't do it unfortunately.. :( Have tried to restart many times and tried via novo button. No help. Thought maybe someone knew if there was possibly a part that needed to be replaced and which one. :\ The age is 3 years btw, maybe it's time for a new one too for all I understand. A little stupid on this😂

@krissie72715

Are you trying to turn on the laptop with the charger connected or on the battery only?

If on battery only, connect the charger to the laptop and fully charge the battery before trying to turn it on.

If you are trying to turn it on with the charger connected, can you fully charge the battery first, without turning the laptop on or doesn't it ever fully charge (or even charge)?

Tried with and without the charger. It charges when connected
