X1 Carbon Gen 9 doesn't turn on anymore after discharging

I was using my laptop to browse the web as usual. The battery was running low, but I kept using it until it shut down. So, I went to charge it and picked it up a few hours later, but it hadn't charged, the orange/amber charging light doesnt turn on and the laptop doesn't boot. I’ve tried using another charger, resetting the battery using the pin on the back, and I’ve also tried removing both the battery and the CMOS battery for an hour, but nothing worked. The only response I get is that the fans spin briefly every time I press the reset pin on the back, but then the laptop turns off after a few seconds.

Is it dead? Is there anything I can do to bring it back to life?

i had a similar issue. it unexpectedly started charging a few days later, so i ran UEFI diagnostics and the battery charge/discharge tests gave me confirmation that the battery was bad. i replaced the battery and it is working fine now. Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon 9th Gen Battery Replacement
