Why don't the blades on my lawnmower cut?

Why do the blades of my lawn mower run into the grass and lose power and stop cutting? The engine stays on but the blades stop turning.

@elias24690 sounds like a bad/loose belt on your mower deck. Tell us what you have checked and verify that your mower is a Husqvarna z254. If so, then here is the Husqvarna Z254 Parts Manual. Page 18 shows you the belt and how to route it. The belt can be adjusted via the idler arm. Here is the Husqvarna Z254 Operator Manual which should help as well.
