Unvoluntary double clic and can't hold clics

Hello, after a year and half of normal use, the left button of my G305 logitech mouse will do a constant double clic when I'm trying to do just one clic. Also, when holding down a clic it will deselect the object.

I've tried contacting Logitech and a warranty of Amazon about this, and donde pretty much all the troubleshoting guides they've given me, and the problems still persist.

I think it may need a replacemente of the button, but I don't know how to do it or where could this be done, any help would be appreciated. Thank you in advance.

If you have the purchase receipt you may be able to ask for the warranty, is what I had to do

Same problem with me, it started after almost a year of occasional/light use.

After searching for a solution for this issue, I found out that it's probably due to extra static electricity beneath the tiny switch inside, so it's temporarily fixed by blowing inside the gap and towards the switch and by clicking on and holding for 20 seconds or so.

I came here when I found out about this website to look for a permanent solution; changing that little switch, maybe.

I'm surprised at how effective blowing is! I bought the mouse in 2019 and started seeing this problem in 2024. Blowing seems to make the problem go away completely.

Hello, for blowing, are you unscrewing the top cover to blow direct to the switch inside? I see there is no example of replacing the switch right?

crwdns2934271:0crwdnd2934271:0crwdne2934271:0

No, the mouse doesn't seem to be very serviceable. Since @ahmedessam82833 mentioned "static electricity", I've been breathing slow, moist air into the front, and it usually fixes the problem for a short period of time.

anyone have a teardown for the top plastics to replace the rmb/lmb switches?

Update (07/24/24)

its not a setting in software, its a physical problem with the buttons

i managed to get it apart and replace the switches (this solved the problem)

there were 3 hidden screws that hold the battery compartment plastics

and then 4 screws to remove the button plastics, and 2 more screws to hold movement limiters

then 2 screws for each of the rmb/lmb button pcb

then unsoldering and replacing the switches was an easy task

also repaced the forward/back buttons while in there, since tha was only 1 more screw for their pcb hold down

Hi Luisa,
I also have the same problem with my G305. The timing couldn't be so odd.
I suspect it might be something with the software driver because mine, too, was very lightly used.
I would try to uninstall the GHUB software, and rollback to whatever the on-board/default driver of the G305.

You need to buy new switches for l the mouse unsolder the old switches and then solder new one to replace defective one it's pretty easy if you know how to solder and desolder but could be tedious otherwise I did it for 2 305 mouse and upgraded the switches for better quality ones it's pretty much the only thing that will fail on the 305 since they cheaped out on the quality of the switches for that model
