Does your father use the same Apple ID on a different Apple device?

@reedmichael9090 I just want to say I am sorry for your loss. You can’t erase the device without triggering an iCloud lock which renders the device completely unusable. You could attempt using the Apple iCloud unlock service (https://al-support.apple.com/#/kbase) but it isn’t a 100% chance they unlock it. For receipt (unless you have the original receipt) I have had luck with random invoices for eBay, Amazon, etc but your luck could vary.
