I've tried adding a RAM upgrade to the single slot, and it never works

I've tried upgrading the 8GB single slot to 16GB single slot, and it never works and the computer keeps bricking - I know there is 8GB soldered on, but I've read you can upgrade the single slot, but it's not working at all.

Interesting. I would check the manual or online to make sure that the speed/capacity of the ram is correct for the slot and mobo inside of the laptop. In the past, I have had similar problems with other computers because I went above the maximum supported ram for the computer.

If that does not work/the ram is the correct spec, I would try a different stick of ram and see if that works. Your ram stick may be bad and that may be causing the computer not to boot.
